Hi all,
Phew, it’s really hot in Europe these days. Especially in the central Europe temperatures are rising like crazy. Madrid and Paris will get around 40 degrees the next week, but even Netherlands are cooking with 35+ degrees.
Heat is never any good when it comes to entertainment. Just think back of some of the games in Brazil last summer. The games at the World Cup was really slow when the temperature climbed above 30, especially when humidity also climbed through the roof.
I see a very slow start in the meeting between Go Ahed Eagles and Ferencvaros. The Dutch are only in the competition due to a Fair Play-ticket – they got relegated from the Eredivisie – and doesn’t look like a team who’ll go all-out-attack. Their topscorer last season was Alex Schalk with four goals during the campaign and Eagles only scored 29 times in 34 league matches. They kept most of their team even after relegation, so they surely won’t be thrashed by Ferencvaros.
The Hungarian team bought in several experienced players like striker Stanislav Sestak, who replaced second topscorer Benjamin Lauth. I fancy their chances in Netherlands, but odds are pretty ridicolous considering that Ferencvaros haven’t played in seven weeks and will do fine with results like 0-0 or 1-1. 2,10 on away win is definately not enough.
It’s gonna be 33 degrees at kick-off in Emmen, where tomorrows match will be played. I see a really slow start here with both teams looking to shake off some rust in their style of play. Very fine odds for a goalless first half.
